Fall is a great time for planting. We encourage fall perennial planting as soon as the evenings start to cool off. This allows them several weeks to establish root growth before the dormant season begins. The roots help to anchor them in to the soil so they don’t heave out during freeze-thaw cycles.
Trees and shrubs can be planted as late as desired…as long as you can dig a hole in the ground.
Why not take advantage of the current cool weather and get a head start on your fall planting? If a few hot days return, a little watering should help them along.
Stop in today and see the selection. Open Tuesdays-Fridays 9 to 5, Saturdays 9-4 and Sundays August 27, September 3 and September 10 from 10-3.
