New Crops Released
We’ve released some new crops, and will continue to do so now that the weather is warm. Shrubs and perennials are loving this warm weather and sending out roots so they can go home with you! Check out the list here.
Summer is a fine time to plant. The plants will always prefer being in the ground to being in a container. Remember to water. Check the soil moisture with your finger an inch or so below the surface. If it does not feel cool and moist, it is time to water. In the summer, water slowly and deeply. You want to water to soak down into the soil and help the roots move down into the soil. A quick sprinkle on the surface of the soil will cause the roots to go UP for moisture, where they will dry out quickly.
Plugs Buy Two Get One Free
We still have a good supply of deep landscape plugs. These are small starter plants with nice deep root systems so you can plant them directly in the ground. Be sure to water them well. They may or may not flower this first year. It is an economical way to get started with native plants, and to try out new species.
We do not require you to purchase a whole tray of plugs. You can buy as few as one. You can mix and match the species. And best of all — they are now buy two get one free!
Photo Contest
We’ve launched our third annual photo contest. This year our them is ‘Frog Friday’. Its time to have some fun!! Check out the details here.
We hope to see you soon in the nursery!
