As long as you can dig a hole, you can plant a tree or shrub. Trees and shrubs planted this year should be watered during warm dry periods over the winter. If there is snow cover, you are all set! If not, remember that on sunny warm days they may start transpiring and will need a bit of moisture so they can ‘wake up’ healthy in the spring. The shrubs are still accessible for sale. You can browse our shrubs this week till 4 pm weekdays.
Perennials can be planted. Watch for heaving during the winter. Put a 1″ layer of mulch over the root zone to help prevent heaving. Then check throughout the winter and push them back in the ground if they have heaved. We are getting the perennials ready for winter. If you still need perennials, send us your list and we will gather them for you to pick up.
