Maintenance and Clean-up

Maintaining a native plant landscape is our specialty.  Our approach balances your needs with a naturalistic style of garden, maximizing ecological benefits.  Choose from one-time, seasonal, and regular maintenance visits.  Most commonly, we visit twice in spring and once in the fall.

Pruning, Soft Edging, Weeding

Our team performs the necessary tasks to keep a garden in its best state — including pruning, soft edging, mulching, weeding, and spring or fall cleanup.  Our edging is done by hand to create gentle borders between different areas.  We encourage desirable plants to set seed and occupy all available space in a bed.  This minimizes the need for annual mulching.

Pruning and pruning instruction

Our team is skilled at small tree and shrub pruning.  Edge of the Woods prioritizes plant health and optimal branch structure.  Dormant season pruning is ideal for many trees, and we can do this in the winter.  We also perform grapevine and fruit tree pruning. Please note, we do not offer shearing services.

Pruning training sessions are available.  If you are interested in learning how to prune trees or shrubs, one of our skilled staff members will teach you how, where, and when to cut.

We may not be able to maintain a non-native landscape

We realize that most landscapes include non-native species, and can help with your maintenance needs.  However, because of time constraints and our desire to plant native plants, we may be unable to take on a project maintaining a non-native plant landscape.
