This small tree is also known as goosefoot maple  — it’s leaf looks like the foot tracks of waterfowl.

It’s a favorite food of…you guessed it, moose! They eat all parts of it!  This tree is a unique, smaller maple species naturally found in woodland understories. It’s bark has beautiful striations that run vertically up the trunk and branches.

Fall color is a bright orange-yellow. A great alternative to standard Japanese maples. Simple pruning can allow this tree to be maintained at any size or shape, though it looks fantastic in its natural form.
