Edge Of The Woods Native Plant Nursery, LLC

Specializing in plants native to mid-Atlantic ecosystem

November 16, 2021

Week of November 15

We are getting the nursery ready for winter so most of our plants are no longer accessible for browsing.  You can send us your list and we can assemble the plants you need.  Here’s our current inventory. Please note that quantities available will change as customers purchase plants.  We will communicate with you to confirm availability.  Email Brian @ EdgeOfTheWoodsNursery.com.

As long as you can dig a hole,  you can plant a tree or shrub.   Trees and shrubs planted this year should be watered during warm dry periods over the winter.  If there is snow cover, you are all set!  If not, remember that on sunny warm days they may start transpiring and will need a bit of moisture so they can ‘wake up’  healthy in the spring.

Perennials can be planted.  Watch for heaving during the winter.  Put a 1″ layer of mulch over the root zone to help prevent heaving.  Then check throughout the winter and push them back in the ground if they have heaved.  We are getting the perennials ready for winter. If you still need perennials, send us your list and we will gather them for you to pick up.

Our evergreen trees are available for purchase and browsing.  They are a good size for use as a small indoor holiday tree.  Dig your hole now, keep the plant outside, and bring it in for a few days for your holiday celebration.  Here is the full scoop on Holiday Tree care.

Stop in to purchase an these Monday-Friday 9 to 3.  We will not be here Saturday or Sunday.   This is only for the week of November 15.  We are posting our open hours one week at a time in order to respond to weather.  Please check back later for when we will be here the week of November 22.

Selected tree and shrub tublings available for browsing and purchase.
